Operator broadband access solutions

Figure 1: Operator broadband access(FTTB) solutions

This is a switch access network used to provide broadband access services. To address high-bandwidth access requirement, The access layer uses high-density Gigabit switches(S4800) to connect to home and enterprise users, with GE or 10 GE uplinks; the aggregation layer uses high-density Gigabit or 10G switches, tree or ring topology, line and node redundancy, forming multi-level protection .

Solution Introduction

Powerful Services Support

Supports IGMP snooping, IGMP proxy, IGMP filter, and IGMP fast leave for robust multicast. It offers wire-speed replication of multicast packets between VLANs(MVR), and multicast load balancing among trunk member interfaces to meet requirements for IPTV services and other multicast services.

Advanced Security

Fiberhome solution offers a comprehensive security solution by providing service security in three aspects: subscriber, switch and network.

Subscriber security helps create protections among customers with multiple features. DHCP Snooping, ARP Inspection, and IP Source Guard help to identify each customer based on MAC, IP address and port information to help prevent malicious attack.

Switch security means CPU can be protected from DoS attack and storm. The port security feature allows controlling the number of MAC addresses against Illegal user access.

Network security is to filter all incoming traffic for ensuring only valid traffic passing through by applying different ACL rules and IEEE 802.1x authentication prevents insecure terminals to intrude illegally into the entire network.

High reliability

Suitable for outdoor cabinet installation:

Good thermal performance, support - 20℃ to 65℃ work environment

Power saving components and energy efficient Ethernet design standard, power consumption is 30% lower than average.

The access switch adopts compact design,Small size and easy to install.

Easy Maintenance:

Offer “0” touch function which makes very simple to deployment. Using standard SNMP interface, it is convenient to be managed by a third-party NMS. Simplify CLI (Command Line Interface) and LLDP (Link Layer Discovery Protocol) allows a network device to advertise its identity and capabilities on the local network.
