FiberHome S4830 Series Gigabit Switches

FiberHome S4830 series aggregation switches are next-generation L2 plus devices developed by FiberHome for service providers and enterprise networks. The S4830 provides a large switching capacity and high density GE ports to implement 10Gbit/s upstream transmissions. It can be deployed in various scenarios, such as access layer in enterprise networks which require Gigabit port to the desktop, as well as distribution layer in MANs. Combining the 10/100/1000 and Power over Ethernet (PoE), FiberHome S4800 enhances end user’s connection convenience by enabling applications such as IP telephony, wireless and video. With improved operational excellence, highly secure business operations, improved sustainability and an enhanced quality of experience, the S4800 helps customers build networks with lower OPEX & CAPEX.

To address high-bandwidth access requirement, the S4830 offers wire-speed up to 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports and 4x10G SFP+ for customer's investment protection by smooth scalability.

  • High Reliability

The S4830 provides enhanced Ethernet reliability technologies such as STP/RSTP/MSTP, Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (G.8032) at millisecond-level protection switchover, as well as R-link and VRRP to ensure link-level reliability.

All S4830 supports fault detection and alarms for power modules and fan, fan speed can be automatically adjusted according to temperature variations.

  • Powerful Services Support

The S4830 supports IGMP snooping, IGMP proxy, IGMP filter, and IGMP fast leave for robust multicast. It offers wire-speed replication of multicast packets between VLANs, and multicast load balancing among trunk member interfaces to meet requirements for IPTV services and other multicast services.

  • Superior Quality of Service

The S4830 offers Gigabit Ethernet with intelligent services that keep everything flowing smoothly with mechanisms for marking, classification, and scheduling.

It supports traffic classification based on abundant criteria such as MAC/IP address, Layer 4 TCP/UDP port number, protocol, port and VLAN.

Each port supports 8 priority queues with multiple queue scheduling algorithms such as SP/PQ, RR, WRR, DRR, SP/PQ+WRR, SP/PQ+DRR to ensure the highest-priority packets are processed ahead of all other traffic.

  • Advanced Security

The S4830 offers a comprehensive security solution by providing service security in three aspects: subscriber, switch and network.

Subscriber security helps create protections among customers with multiple features. DHCP Snooping, ARP Inspection, and IP Source Guard help to identify each customer based on MAC, IP address and port information to help prevent malicious attack.

Switch security means CPU can be protected from DoS attack and storm. The port security feature allows controlling the number of MAC addresses against overwhelming the switch memory.

Network security is to filter all incoming traffic for ensuring only valid traffic passing through by applying different ACL rules and IEEE 802.1x authentication prevents insecure terminals to intrude illegally into the entire network.

  • Enhanced PoE Function

S4830-PE switch complies with IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at, it can supply maximum 30W power (per PoE port) to 802.11n complied powered devices such as IP Phone, WLAN APs, cameras at 24 PoE ports simultaneously by assembling 500W power module.

Intelligent PoE allocations can also be applied for energy savings. The user can configure when and whether the PoE port to supply power.
